Welcome to Saving Pets One Pet At A Time, a comprehensive resource dedicated to holistic pet health, nutrition, and natural care for dogs and cats. Our goal is to help pet parents better understand the potential risks associated with highly processed pet foods (kibble), medications, vaccinations, flea and tick products, and environmental toxins, while also sharing healthier options that support longer, happier lives for your furry companions.
Here you will find a growing library of research-based information covering holistic nutrition, species-appropriate diets, gut health, toxin awareness, and natural ways to support common medical conditions in pets. Much of what we share is guided by research from holistic veterinarians, integrative practitioners, and the real-world experience we have caring for our own animals.
Our site includes extensive resources on medical conditions affecting dogs and cats, including gastrointestinal disorders, urinary issues, immune and endocrine diseases, and the medications often prescribed to treat them. We aim to help pet parents better understand the root causes behind many common health problems and explore supportive approaches that work with the body rather than against it.
This educational resource is free for everyone to access. If you choose to support our work, you can do so by shopping through the recommended products and trusted brands we feature throughout the site and also make a financial contribution. Your support helps us continue expanding this library of holistic pet health information.
Be sure to check back often, as we are continually adding new research, practical tips, and resources to help you make informed decisions about your pet’s health and well-being.

Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where pet parents can no longer trust their vets or pet food manufacturers. Be diligent and learn to research everything you put on and in your pet.
Dogs and cats should be fed a species appropriate diet, which is a raw or gently cooked diet. They need moisure in their diet. Pets who eat an ultra-processed diet will have a lifetime of problems.
Do not use traditional flea, tick, or heartworm medications, or shampoo. Also, be careful to not over-vaccinate. Titer test after the first set of vaccinations.
It is imperative that you are aware of the environmental toxins like pesticides, fertilizer, candles, household cleaners and EMFs that your pet is exposed to. Studies have found American pets are polluted with industrial chemicals at levels even higher than humans. Focus on eliminating them if possible.
Traditional vets are paid by pharmaceutical companies and are often owned by large conglomerates. They will push the foods and pharmaceuticals that benefit them (not your pet) financially.
It is imperative that you research everything you put in and on your pet.
